Business Cases: Your Blueprint for Evidence-Based Success

Why do we need business cases?

One of the most common questions we encounter in the business case space is: “Why do we need to do a business case?” Often seen as a hurdle, a business case is the foundation of any project, maximizing success through evidence-based decision-making and accountability, while enhancing public value and benefit.

The requirement for business cases can vary between organisations and authorising bodies. In healthcare, schemes valued between £25-50m require approval from the Joint DHSC/NHSE Investment Sub-Committee (JISC). But for larger projects, over £50m approval is needed from the Joint Investment Committee (JIC), Ministers, and HM Treasury. Regardless of value though the business case process is the foundation for providing assurance and establishes the project on a road to success.

Why choose Archus?

In today’s public sector landscape, Archus has supported countless NHS organisations in developing proposals and securing funding for essential projects, which have delivered real and measurable benefits for communities across the globe. We’ve successfully led NHS business cases ranging from £1m to multi-billion pounds, from EPR systems to major NHP builds; we know this space and tailor our requirements to ensure success is delivered every time.

We’re proud to have partnered with NHS organisations nationwide, receiving positive feedback from many clients, including the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust:

“Archus provided a business case specialist to oversee the OBC for the ACAD project. Archus’ involvement gave us valuable insight into delivering an NHS business case. Without Archus’ input, we wouldn’t have the document we do.”
