At Archus my role involves...

As Director for Ireland, I lead a team delivering a range of services to support the HSE, public and private hospitals and a range of other government and private bodies. My own work in supporting clients ranges from demand modelling and clinical pathway transformation to facility planning and investment appraisal.

I was drawn to healthcare by...

For my degree dissertation, I looked at the impact of ill health upon health economies. This was the catalyst for joining the NHS as a Management Trainee and working in healthcare has been both continually stimulating and worthwhile ever since.

Memorable career moment?

There have been a few, both in the UK and working in several other countries. Standout moments include working from the start on the University Hospital North Midlands project, Tunbridge Wells, UCL, Karolinska Sweden and Hamad Qatar plus the NHSI national reviews.

Why Archus?

We're able to provide specialist expertise to support clients in healthcare on a wide range of strategic and infrastructure issues, addressing the future vision of how healthcare needs to change and adapt by sharing our deep national and international experience.

Most significant trend for healthcare in the future?

There are several major global themes. Ageing population with co-morbidities stimulating increasing demand, patient safety, pharmacology and clinical developments, IT and big data, improving intermediate care and rehabilitation, and chronic disease management. At the same time, every major health system is recognising the need to balance demand with operating efficiently.
